Tuesday, October 31, 1978: Halloween 1978
I got up at 7:30 am. I went to school. I had PE first. Then I had Science. Last I had History. I went to the Fire Pit at lunch. After lunch I had English, Math, and Music. I walked home from School. I made some sound effects tapes for the party tonight.
Bruce came home early and so did Anne. They got ready for the party. I road down to the store to get batteries for my tape recorder. We drove to Rick's. Anne went as a Punk Rocker. The headless guy "Irving" that I made needed to be adjusted a bit. I got ketchp and pumpkin guts to make Irving look gross. Rick Evans was Frankenstein and Bruce went as Dracula. I was Igor.
Bruce and Rick would take each person who arrived down stairs and give them a "tour" of our house of horrors. I would sit on the steps and they'd kick me out of the way. Bruce would say "anything can happen in the house of horrors" and Mike Mayers (dressed in a football uniform with an gorilla mask on) would jump out and throw a net on the person being given the tour. Next they would show them "Irving" and Ruthann would attack them. Then they'd take them to another room, open the door and show them Terry Evans who had all sorts of fake cuts on him. Terry would try and get them, and then Mike (Ape-O) would jump out again. Last Bruce would take them into this room where Jerry Doctors would be laying in the Coffin from Rick's work. There was a strobe light in the coffin so when Jerry would jump up it would look like it was in slow motion. Then the person being toured would be put in the back room with everyone else. Once everyone was there Terry gets on a table with a white sheet in front and a bright light behind and Bruce did an "Operation" on him with pumpkin guts etc. It showed up as a shadow.
It was a lot of fun. Carmina came as "rain". Afterwards Bruce, Anne, Carmina, and this girl named Gabrielle and a girl named Diane drove down Yonge Street. What a freak show! We got back at 1:30 am.
Monday, October 30, 1978: Getting the Coffin
I got up at 7:40 am. I had Music first period in school. Next I had Art. Then I had Typing. At lunch I was walking to the Fire Pit when Mom and Dad picked me up. We went to some people's for lunch. After lunch I had English, then Math, and History last. I walked home from school.
After supper Bruce and I went to Rick Evan's to set up for tomorrow's Halloween party. I made a man out of old clothes stuffed with newspapers. Bruce got a chopping block and put him on it (he didn't have a head). Bruce got a mask and made a head that looked like it had part of a spinal cord attached. We went with Rick to the Funeral Home he works at and got a real coffin. I walked home with Bruce and Carmina.
Sunday, October 29, 1978: Terry's Beer
I got up at 8:30 am. I went to Church. After Bruce and I went to a restaurant. We had Choir practice later. Tonight we sang in Church. After Church we went out. Bruce and Harry Nunn bought Terry Evans a beer for a joke. It freaked him out when the waiteress brought it to him.
Saturday, October 28, 1978: To The Limit
I got up at 11:30 am. I watched TV. Mom, Dad, Bruce, Anne and I went to Gord Drivers Aunt's house for a Ukuranian Wedding Reception. I stuffed myself to the limit. Gord and Arlene opened wedding presents after we ate.
Friday, October 27, 1978: Gord & Arlene's Wedding
I got up at 12:00 noon. I didn't have school today (Yeah!!) At 6:30 pm I went to Gord and Arlene's wedding. After they had the wedding we had an hour and a half before we had to go to the reception. Terry and Ruthann Evans, Rick, Anne, Bruce, Carmina and I went to a restaurant to get a cup of coffee or a snack. I got onion rings. They held the reception in an old manson that had been made into a community building. After the reception Carol Mason drove me home.
Thursday, October 26, 1978: Halloween Dance
I got up at 7:40 am. I went to school. I had English first, then Music. I had Art last. At lunch I went to the Fire Pit. I had Typing then PE. We played floor hockey. The periods were shortened today because of the Halloween Dance. I had Science last. I didn't go to the Dance. I walked down to the Keyboard Store. I put my film in at the photomat. I bought three blank cassette at the Shepperd Centre. I got home at 4:00 pm. I watched TV. I went with Bruce when he took Carmina to her nightschool. Nothing much else happened.
Wednesday, October 25, 1978: Piano Lesson
I didn't sleep more than two hours last night. Bruce drove me to school. I had Art first. I stabbed myself in the finger with an exacto-knife. In Typing it almost drove me crazy. I had PE. Thumbs down. At lunch I went to the Fire Pit. I had my usual. I went to the Keyboard store. I walked back to school. I had Math, Science, then History. Mom and Dad picked me up after school and we went shopping. I got a jacket. I had a piano lesson at 6:00 pm.
Tuesday, October 24, 1978: Math
I got up at 7:50 am. I went to school. I had PE first. Then I had Science. After that we had History. We had a substitute teacher. At lunch I went to the Fire Pit. I had my usual. Then I went to the Hobby Shop. I walked back to school.
I had English first. Then I had Math. I like our Math Teacher; he's always joking around and telling corny jokes. I had Music last. I walked home. Nothing much else happened.
Monday, October 23, 1978: Crumby
I got up at 7:40 am. I went to school. I had Music first. I have a test tomorrow in Music. I am doing so crumby. Lunch didn't come too soon. I walked home. Dad drove me back after we ate. I had English first. I got 35 out of 50 on the English test I took last week. Next I had Math. Last I had History. We had a movie on Native Canadians.
After school I started to walk home but Dad picked me up about halfway. I watched TV. I had a steak for supper. I watched "The Goodies" and "Doctor Who" then I did my homework.
Sunday, October 22, 1978: Chinese Food
I got up at 8:30 am. I went to Church. I sat with Mike Mayers in Church. At lunch I with with Mom and Dad and some people from the Church named The Thompson's for Chinese food.
I watched Star Trek this afternoon. Tonight I watched Battle Star Galctica on TV. Nothing else happened.
Saturday, October 21, 1978: To Cousin Brian's
I got up at 10:30 am. Bruce and Anne went away for the weekend. I went to Brian and Katies'. I played some tapes to Brian and he played his reel to reel tape recorder. We're going to tape some sound effects for the Halloween Party. Dad drove me home. I watched TV all night.
Friday, October 20, 1978: Holiday
I got up at 12:30. I didn't have school today. I had pancakes and bacon for breakfast. I didn't do much today.
I had pizza for supper. After supper I watched "Doctor Who". I went to the Church and practiced piano. Dad and I went to the Hobby Shop. Tonight Anne made popcorn.
Thursday, October 19, 1978: English Test
I got up at 7:40 am. I got my hair washed. I went to school. I had English first. I did my test. After that I had Music. I had Art before Lunch.
I had pizza for supper. I watched "Doctor Who" on TV. I watched "Mork & Mindy" with Anne. I don't have school tomorrow.
Wednesday, October 18, 1978: Flag Football
I got up at 7:30 am. I went to school. I had Art first, then typing. After that I had PE. At lunch I didn't have any money so I walked home. Mr & Mrs Nunn came over for lunch. Dad drove me back to school.
I had Math, Science, and History. After school our class had a flag football game. We lost 22 to 7. I went home. I had supper. After supper I went down to the Keyboad Store for my first piano lesson. I have a test tomorrow.
Tuesday, October 17, 1978: Running
I got up at 7:30 am. I went to school. We had to run around the gym for 7 minutes. I ran with Heggy. He takes violin and piano lessons. Craig Young is always bugging me.
At lunch I went to the Fire Pit. I walked up to the Hobby Shop after. At 12:30 I went back to school. I had English first. We're having a test Thursday. I had Math then Music. We're having a test on Monday. (oh no!)
I walked home. I watched "Hogan's Heroes" and "The Goodies" on TV. I also watched "Doctor Who". I watched a show about Mars with Dad. I went to bed at 10:30 pm.
Monday, October 16, 1978: Crumby Times
I got up at 7:30 am. I went to school. I had Music first. Then I had Art. After that I had typing. I'm failing typing terribly. At lunch I went to the Fire Pit. I had English first period this afternoon. I had Math, then History. I got only 47 out of 75 in a History test.
I walked home by myself. I watched "The Goodies" with Dad. Nothing much else happened. What a crumby time I've been having lately.
Sunday, October 15, 1978: 1978 E.C. Roll Call
I got up at 8:30 am. I wnet to Sunday School. Herman Mayers is back from his college in the USA. Hector Mayers, Mike Mayers and Herman were in Sunday School. I sat with Mike and Jerry in service. This kid sitting 2 rows up had his pants on backwards.
At lunch I went out for Chinese food with Bruce, Rick Evans, Howie, Anne, Karen, Lisa and Daniel. After we practiced for the Choir. Tonight at Church we sang. It was a good service. After Ron, Anne, Bruce, Lisa, Karen Goldsworthy, Jim Goldsworthy and myself went over to Karen Gamble's apartment.
Saturday, October 14, 1978: Anne and Bruce
I got up at 11:30 am. I had breakfast. Anne and I watched "Star Trek" on TV. Anne and Bruce went shopping. I stayed home. After Anne and Bruce went to a Bridal Shower.
Friday, October 13, 1978: Headache
I got up at 7:30 am. I went to school. I had English first then Music. After that I had Art. At lunch I went to the Fire Pit. I had a bad headache all morning. I called home but no one was there. I walked home and lay down. I went to sleep until around 3:00 pm. Mom and Dad were home when I got up.
Anne got home at around 3:30 pm. Bruce brought Carmina over. Tonight Bruce, Anne, Carmina and I went shopping down on Yonge Street. We met Lisa and Daniel by accident. We all went to a restaurant called Mr. Green Jeans. We got home real late.
Thursday, October 12, 1978: Late for School
I got up at 6:00 am and didn't go back to sleep until 7:00 am. I got up at 7:40 am. I went to school. At lunch I went to the Fire Pit. My grade 10 friends were there. I got back to school late. After school I walked home. I had to do home work. I watched "Mork & Mindy" with Anne and Dad.
Wednesday, October 11, 1978: Keyboard Store
I got up at 7:30 am. I went to school. I went to the Fire Pit at lunch. After school Dad picked me up and we drove to the Keyboard Store. I'm going to get piano lessons some time next week. I went to get my photos out of the photomat but they weren't ready yet.
Tuesday, October 10, 1978: Two Goons
I got up at 7:40 am. I went to school. I had Music first. These two goons are always making fun of me. I try not to pay any attention to them.
I went to the Fire Pit at lunch. Nothing else happened.
Monday, October 9, 1978: Aunts & Uncles
I got up at noon. We left for Aunt Audrey's and Uncle Ken's at 1:30 pm. We stopped at the Church to feed Dad's fish. We stopped at Uncle Doug's in Oakville on the way. I talked to Jayne on the phone.
We got to Aunt Audrey's and Uncle Ken's at about 3:00 pm. I made a tape with Valerie and Marla. We got home tonight at around 11:00. I went to bed late.
Sunday, October 8, 1978: Kicked Out of Sound Room
I got up at 8:30 am. I went to Sunday School. After I went to the sound roomand I prepared to tape the services. Mike and Hector Mayers came in too. Dave MacKinnon told Mike and I to get out of the sound room because we are "just kids". I didn't argue it isn't worth it. I sat with Mike.
After service Dad and I went out to a Chinese Restaurant with Mr. & Mrs. MacCarthy, Karen MacCarthy, Karen Gamble and Silvia. Anne and Bruce got home this afternoon. I didn't go to church. I watched TV. Mom came home tonight. I went to bed late.
Hurray!! No school tomorrow!!
Saturday, October 7, 1978: Science Centre
I got up at 11:30 am today. Dad made breakfast. We had tea, bacon and toast. At 12:30 pm we left for the Science Centre. We went all through it. One past has computers in it. I entered my birth date into one computer and it told me I was born on Tuesday and I've been slept 53,308 hours, worked (or went to school) 21,366 hours, ate 6548 kilograms of food and inhailed 77,558 kilolitres of air. We went back upstairs to the store part wehn some staff asked Dad and I if we would be in a scientific experiment. They put this thing on our leg and it made vibrations in 9 different places.
After we got home I had pizza for supper. I watched "The Hulk" and "Doctor Who" on TV. Later I made a tape.
Friday, October 6, 1978: Rex Humbard & Larry Norman
I got up at 7:30 am. I had a bath. Mom went to Ohio to some big Rex Humbard place this morning. I went to school. Most of the school went to Stratford on a field trip. Dad picked me up at lunch and we went for Fish and Chips. I didn't have school this afternoon because most of my classes were cancelled because of lack of student.
After supper I went to hear Larry Norman (a Christian Rock singer) with Bruce and Anne. It was good. I wish it had been longer. Anne and Bruce went up north camping. I made popcorn.
Thursday, October 5, 1978: Sick Day
I got up at 7:40 am. I am still sick from last week. I didnt go to school. I went back to bed and slept from 8:30 to 12:30. I got up and had something to eat. Tonight I watched "The Goodies" with Dad and Bruce. I had supper then I watched "Doctor Who". I watched "Mork and Mindy" with Anne.
Wednesday, October 4, 1978: Science Test
I got up at 7:50 am. I didn't feel good. I went to school anyways because I had a Science test. I had PE first. Then I had Science. I don't think I did too well on the test. I had Histroy next. We had a sub teacher. At lunch I went to the Fire Pit.
After lunch I had English. Then I had Math and last Music. We got out early at 2:40 because of another teacher's meeting. I walked home. Nothing else happened.
Tuesday, October 3, 1978: Failing Music
I got up at 7:35 am. I got washed my hair. I went to school. I had a Music test. I failed terribly. I went to Art class after that. I had a Typing class then I went to lunch. I walked to the Fire Pit. After lunch I had English class first. Then Math and last I had History.
I went over to Lenny's after school. I came home later and watched "The Goodies" with Anne and Dad. I had supper and then I watched "Doctor Who". I did my homework.
Monday, October 2, 1978: To the Gulf Course
I got up at 7:30 am. I went to school. I had English first, and music next. Then I had Art. At lunch I went to the Fire Pit to eat. I sat with the guys from Grade 10.
I walked back to school. I had typing first. We had a sub teacher in that. AFter we had PE. We had to run 4 laps around the field which equals one mile. Last we had Science. We got out early because of a teacher's meeting. I walked home with Lenny. We went down to the Gulf Course.
I had pizza for supper. We went back to the Gulf Course after supper. I went to the Sheppard Centre with Dad and Anne. I watched TV then went to bed.
Sunday, October 1, 1978: Swiss at Swiss Chic
I got up at 8:00 am. I had a bath and got ready for Church. I went to Sunday School. I taped the service in the Sound Booth today. Uncle Everett preached.
After service I went with Bruce to the Swiss Chalet Restaurant. he took Carmina, Danielle and some other French girl. After that we went back to the Church for a Choir practice but hardly anyone came so we went home.
I stayed home tonight with Anne. We watched TV.
